The Bureau’s public consultation on Algorithmic pricing and competition took place from June 10, 2025 to August 4, 2025 and is now closed.
The aim of this paper is to strengthen the Bureau’s understanding of algorithmic pricing.
The discussion paper highlights key questions on algorithmic pricing, including:
- how it is used in Canada, and how prevalent it is
- where the data for pricing algorithms comes from
- how it could impact markets and consumers
- what challenges it presents for competition authorities
Interested parties can provide comments on this paper by using the online form below.
Submissions will be posted on the Bureau’s website in the language provided unless the provider requests that it be kept confidential.
The deadline for submissions is August 4, 2025 (11:59 pm Pacific time).
