Public and stakeholder consultations

The Competition Bureau consults regularly with the public and stakeholders to obtain comments on a specific issue.


The Bureau regularly posts drafts of its publications (such as enforcement guidelines, bulletins, policies, and corporate reports) to give stakeholders an opportunity to comment.

Discussion papers

The Bureau issues discussion papers on specific topics to convey the Bureau’s views and to encourage debate and further discussion. These papers may be developed internally or commissioned from independent experts. For example:


From time to time, the Bureau hosts workshops to foster discussion on a specific topic and to communicate the Bureau’s position on that topic. Workshops allow the Bureau to gather information and generate dialogue on emerging issues that can inform the Bureau’s position.
